Des Pattison

Des Pattison is a Bradford based artist, currently living in Greengates. He studied graphic design at Manchester Polytechnic before going on to study print at Bradford College. As a result, his work began to involve a lot of experimentation with traditional print techniques.

Pattison’s process involves working onto screen printed shapes and colour block layers with paint. Oil and Acrylic paint is used to add detail and texture, with an aim to create a confluence between the image and the physical surface.

“I am primarily interested in the visual interplay between image and it’s material manifestation. The fluctuating perceptual precedence between these two paradigms remains a source of creativity for me.”
