Baroque ConneXion – An Otley Baroque concert in the Gallery

Join Otley Baroque for a special concert in the middle of our Gallery exhibition space! The quartet invites you to an exciting Musical Journey through early 17th century Venice, the unique intersection of various cultures; noisy and vibrant, full of merchant, tourist and traders. You will hear the fascinating sound of Venetian instrumental baroque music played by cornetto, violin, cello and harpsichord which traces its history from folkloric tunes and Mediterranean dances that still resonate to the listeners of the present.
Farsley born trumpet player Nicholas Emmerson became fascinated by the early wind instrument called ‘Cornetto’ which was popular in the 16-17th century Italy.
