Create a Paper Icelandic Poppy Workshop
August 27 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Olivia is a local artist who creates life-life paper flowers. She is inspired by the beauty of the natural world around us and aims to capture that sense of awe in her floral creations. She is self taught with over 9 years of expertise. She creates arrangements for weddings, gifts and home decor, with a keen interest in botanical realism.
In this workshop Olivia will share her unique method of crafting Icelandic Poppies, taking you step by step through each part of the process with live demonstration and plenty of guidance. There will be pre-made examples of poppies at different stages of creation on hand to study and assist you in your making.
From seed pod to petals you’ll learn some of the fundamental techniques in paper flower making including, laminating, fringing, dying and crepe paper shaping techniques. We will maximize realism by paying close attention to colour, form and details; all key ingredients in capturing the natural beauty of flowers.
Most importantly, you’ll learn how to create a flower that will bring you lasting joy.
All materials provided.
No experience necessary but dexterity required.
