Visual Inspiration and Woven Textiles

11th May 2021 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

Join us online for an intro to visual inspiration and woven textiles with weaver Agnis Smallwood.

This week we will be learning about how we can use visual inspiration including photos, drawings and sketchbooks to inform our woven textiles. We will be thinking about colour and texture as we explore how visual ideas can be translated through the yarn choices that we make. We will design and produce several windings/yarn wraps in this workshop as we practically explore this topic.

You will receive everything you will need for this workshop in the post. The kit will include lots of different yarns as well as plenty of card to make a range of yarn wraps both within and after the workshop. Book a place to receive a zoom link.

This workshop forms part of a short series of Weaving Skills Sessions. If you have joined us previously for a weaving workshop in the Twisting Gallery you might like to join this workshop via Zoom, so that you can further your skills and knowledge whilst enjoying learning with fellow weaving enthusiasts. This workshop would equally be of interest to those who are keen to join a weaving workshop at Sunny Bank Mills in the future and can’t wait to get started!
