Zine Making Workshop with Louise Press
April 1 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

In this workshop with Louise Press, you will explore the theme of connection and learn how to make your own playful zines (short, handmade books). Together we will utilise simple bookbinding, collage and drawing techniques to make unexpected creative discoveries. This is an opportunity to see what can come from a pair of scissors, sheet of paper, glue stick and a nice chat.
The workshop will start with an introduction to zines and a technical demonstration from Georgia, Lily and Eleanor of Louise Press followed by a collaborative warm up activity before encouraging participants to get stuck in and experiment freely.
We will provide images, ephemera and recycled materials to collage with in the workshop as well as all the tools required to bind your zines.
PLEASE NOTE – This workshop will take place inside the Artists’ Book and Print Fair as part of Printed Bound 2023, so the setting may be noisy and therefore unsuitable for anyone with sensory sensitivity.
Suitable for ages 12+. Scissors will be used for this workshop, so some dexterity is needed.
All materials are included in your ticket.
Entry to the market is included in your workshop ticket – just show your email confirmation to the staff on the door when you arrive.
This workshop is part of a series of workshops and events taking place as part of Printed Bound 2023 around the site of Sunny Bank Mills.
