The standardisation of cloth manufacture was an important development in the textile industry. Sunny Bank Mills was no exception to the conformity and testing. This piece of equipment was for one of those tests. The Crockmeter has stayed pretty much unchanged since its development in the late 1930’s. The Crockmeter is used to determine the colour fastness of textiles to dry or wet rubbing.
