A group of volunteers from Sunny Bank Mills Archive enjoyed a fascinating trip to Bradford Bulls at Odsal Stadium the other week.  The meeting was arranged by West Yorkshire Archive Service (WYAS) and was hosted by Kathryn Hughes, Heritage Officer at Bradford Bulls. Kathryn and one of the volunteers described the development of the rugby league club and Odsal Stadium since they moved there in 1934.  In particular they shared the work they have done in regards of the Birch Lane Heroes a group of men who played or were connected to the club during the First World War.  They also went on to explain how the archive had been established and conserved and also the work done within the local community and schools. The morning was a great opportunity to get up close and personal to this varied and fascinating collection.  Thank you to WYAS and Kathryn Hughes and team for the warm welcome and interesting insight into this unique collection. http://www.bullsfoundation.org/
