Join us for this free family day as we share some of the hidden stories of the Mill, Farsley and Pudsey with poet Matt Abbott on Sunday 10th April, 12-4pm and followed by a community Open Mic, 4-6pm, compered by poet Joe Williams.
–
For the past few months Matt has been exploring some of the hidden stories of the Mill, Farsley and Pudsey. He’s delved into Archives, held workshops at schools, in the Gallery and online, and even popped into a pub or two – all in the interests of research of course!
The result – poems inspired by his research and you, the community.
Matt will be sharing his poems with you in a relaxed family community afternoon at the Mill. There will be activities for all the family; we will be running a café with home-made cake and the bar will be open. Pop down for a cup of tea and home made cake, listen to a poem, do an activity or just sit and soak up the atmosphere.
Followed by a community Open Mic – music, poetry, spoken word, stories, anything goes in your 5 minutes. Just come along, put your name down on the list and show us what you’ve got! Poet and performer Joe Williams will be your host for this open mic. Spaces are limited so get your name down early.
