Jim Bond is a sculptor specialising in dynamic kinetic structures which combine programmable electronic control systems with motors and flexible material to breathe life into delicate structures and forms. The addition of optical illusion and the use of light and shadow create an absorbing interaction with the audience. His kinetic light installations have delighted audiences at Kinetica Art Fair, Eureka, Light Night Leeds and LUX Helsinki.
“The ‘Source’ of my ideas are a series of A6 sketchbooks which contain drawings, diaries, found lists, collaged scraps and collected images. The series of two dimensional mixed media work submitted are a continuation of the work done in my sketchbooks.”
