Susan Calverley Parker

Susan Calverley Parker

Susan was christened in Calverley Church and her early years were spent living in Pudsey. She started her education at Farsley Farfield School. From there she moved around the UK with her family, finally settling in the Yorkshire Dales with her husband 26 years ago.

Susan’s art practice has evolved from studies of the Yorkshire Dales. Her work explores how land use influences our scenery and how we ourselves relate to the landscape. Poetry, music and literature are another important influence on her work.

The practical side of the landscape such as farming practices, livestock prices, tree planting, wind turbines, solar farms, grants, countryside stewardship, shooting, geology, history and wildlife habitats are all explored in her work.
