FIVE NORTHERN ARTISTS
Five Yorkshire Artists bring their unique and eclectic practices to the historic Sunny Bank Mills Gallery , in a riot of colour , shape and media
Richard Snowden: Landscapes and Ladies
Chris Moss: Familiar Faces: wire animal sculptures
Eric Moss; Spectacular Journeys: sculptural ceramics
Kim Coley: observation of form, light and rhythm in sgraffito murals and drawings
Mel Davies: references – immediate and remembered
Richard Snowden: Yorkshire Landscapes as you have never seen them before, chickens, guinea fowl and barely clad ladies rub along together in a colourful crowd by this well known local and national aritst
Eric Moss: Spectacular Journeys. The magic of crackle glaze and smoke on clay give birth to Eric’s tightly controlled ceramic sculptural forms; from clay though fire, air and water
Chris Moss: Sculpting in wire Chris conveys and creates the energy and dynamism of anatomy, mass and bone structure in her animal forms
Kim Coley: working across various media Kim has transferred her drawing and painting skills into a series of tile murals using the sgraffito technique; demonstrating her interest in the things that happen when form, light , space and rhythm are carefully and instinctively observed.
Mel’s painting are joyful, witty, and refreshingly unconstrained by convention. Painting from stored memories, he knows how to look and see!..
