Curved Log Cabin Hand Piecing Workshop

June 9 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

£40.00

In this hand-piecing workshop, you will sew a traditional block with a modern twist. Two of these 11” x 5” Log Cabin blocks (also called Court House Steps) put together will create a circle.

Jenny will show you many ways this versatile slow-stitching block can be used to create anything from a small wall hanging to a hand-pieced quilt.

Feel free to bring your own fabric, or the cross weaves supplied by Jenny.

All materials included.

Suitable for ages 14+ with experience in hand sewing. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

About Jenny

Jenny Haynes (née Nilsson) studied Pattern Cutting and Tailoring in Stockholm, before moving on to study Fashion and Textiles at the London College of Fashion.

She developed ‘Papper, Sax, Sten’, creating clean and simple, mid-century modern design for the home, whilst remaining faithful to her Scandinavian roots. This was recognised in Summer ’15 when Jenny was invited by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce, along with 18 other Swedish designers, to be a part of Heal’s Swedish Summer Exhibition.

In 2017 London’s V&A, along with the publishers Thames & Hudson, asked her to contribute to the book ‘Patchwork & Quilting’ – the first publication of their Maker’s Guide series.

Jenny has had her quilts and patterns published in numerous magazines and her quilts have won awards at QuiltCon.
