Screen Print a Tote Bag with El Riordan

Join El in our Spinning Mill Studios to design and screen print your own tote bag as part of Printed Bound 2023!
Experiment with stencils to create a screen printed tote bag or tea towel with textile designer El Riordan.
This is a great introduction to the screen printing process, whilst giving you the freedom to create your own design and print using multiple layers and colours. Using scissors and craft knives, you will create a paper stencil which will be used to screen print your unique design.
All materials and equipment are included. Each participant will print 1 tote bag or tea towel.
Suitable for ages 14+. Scissors will be used for this workshop, so some dexterity is needed.
About your tutor
El Riordan is a Textile Designer and Fashion and Textiles Tutor based in West Yorkshire.
Her work is inspired and developed from a love of the outdoors and in response to the Norwegian concept of Friluftsliv, which translates as “free air life”. The concept encourages a strong relationship with nature and calls on the importance of spending time outdoors.
El uses a range of techniques throughout her work including; screen printing, digital printing, collage, drawing and painting.
