Kate Ruttle is a textile designer from Huddersfield. Her work is particularly focussed on creating three-dimensional woven textiles through a technical and precise design process. The ArchiteXt is a collection of 3D woven fabrics for use in interior archi-textiles for theatres, conference centres and universities, adding sound absorbency, privacy, and adaptability to commercial interior spaces.

Kate is a recent graduate from Huddersfield University with a First-Class degree in Textiles (BSc) and now a textile designer at luxury textile mill, Bower Roebuck, based in Huddersfield. During her studies, Kate received several awards, including the Stuart Hollander Award from the Worshipful Company of Weavers.

ArchiteXt is a collection of 3D woven fabrics for use in interior archi-textiles for theatres, conference centres and universities, adding sound absorbency, privacy, and adaptability to commercial interior spaces. Quadruple is made up of four layers of cloth, woven simultaneously. Each layer interchanges and connects on the loom. Loom adaptations, yarns, weave structures and finishing processes were considered to achieve a self-supporting 3D structure. Woven on a TC2 Jacquard Loom, Jacquard 1, 2 & 3 contain woven structures which create mountain and valley folds, enabling the textiles to be concertinaed into 3D forms when the textiles are taken off loom.
