Stuart Andrew MP to open Art1st charity exhibition

Stuart Andrew, MP for Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough will be opening the ‘ Flight of Discovery’ exhibition tonight which kicks off at 6pm in the Sunny Bank Mills Gallery.This follows on from his visit to their base at Leeds Bradford airport on 16th August this year. ART1ST is a group of artists who have worked together for many years, regularly using their work to support local charities. For one week only, they are exhibiting in support of Yorkshire Air Ambulance, an independent charity providing a life saving rapid response emergency service to 5 million people across Yorkshire. Using paint as a medium to express their individual flights of discovery , each artist navigates their own flight path to explore the world around them, Carol Edwards – narrative paintings inspired by conversation David Hodgson- an emotional flight drawn from the Yorkshire landscape Eleanor McVerry- movement of organic forms of nature though colour and tone. Isa Guest- the elemental force and textures of Nature’s powerful cycle Linda Wood- the causal effect of light on water in form of differing shapes and colours Paul North- textural portrayal of the wild nature of Yorkshire Peter Wood- memories of treasured times and friendship Vicky Nolan- capturing a memorable moment in time 8 Artists, 7 days –an unique opportunity to support the Yorkshire Air Ambulance
