The National Heritage Lottery Funded project Weaving the Web is progressing well.  We are now beginning to create a webpage of 360-degree images of the Archive collection.  This will mean where ever you are you can delve and search through the amazing collection here in the Archive.  The images are really crisp and detailed as I am sure you would agree.  We aim to create 50 images of the collection on a dedicated part of the website.

We have run a design competition with the students at SILC to create a logo to accompany the project.

The main aim of the Weaving the Web project is to create digital images of the Archive collection.  Creating links with the students at West SILC and helping to create better accessibility to our site and website.  This digitised version of the collection will then be available to access anytime, anywhere.  This gives a fascinating view of the collection as the below video demonstrates.

It also introduces the collection to anyone who would like to visit before you come.  A unique experience that helps to showcase this fascinating and diverse collection.  We have now developed workshops to showcase the abilities of 360 photography and how this will be used for the web accessibility of the collection.  So if you are interested in being part of these free workshops please email  [email protected]
