Kristina Nenova

Kristina Nenova is an interdisciplinary artist who utilises personal archives, textiles, sound, and video to explore migration, family history, and personal narratives. Currently, Kristina is focused on exploring how migration reshapes the passing down of traditions, stories, family albums, and belongings, through collaboration with her relatives.

Kristina frequently collaborates with her paternal grandmother, who has preserved a family archive spanning generations, to craft narratives that chronicle her journey of migrating at the age of 62. This collaborative process delves into her grandmother’s adaptation to a new home, navigating life without the majority of her belongings that were passed down to her, and reimagining the methods through which she imparts her skills and traditions to her granddaughter, particularly now that they both reside in another country with a different culture.
