.artmaker

5th November - 23rd December 2022

.artmaker is an exhibition of celebrating Henshaws Arts & Crafts Centre and the work of artists with disabilities; dispelling myths, sharing stories, and nurturing creativity. Featuring prints, paintings, mosaics and sculptural work from over 20 Artmakers from Henshaws centre in Knaresborough.

People who are differently abled and neurodiverse have many ways of communicating what they think and feel about the world. Through the works in .artmaker we experience the joy and beauty that this diversity brings. .artmaker is a celebration of the work of artists that so often go unseen due to the exclusionary structures which shape the art world.

The Art Makers are at the core of this exhibition, with more than 20 artists featured. Their work is as unique and diverse as they are. The Gallery is filled with bright colours, expressive shapes and intricate details with pieces ranging from a rainbow 3D robot to delicate layered collages.

This exhibition aims to dispel myths, challenge stereotypes, share stories and celebrate creativity.

Opening times: Tuesday-Saturday 10-4, Sunday 12-4. Closed on Mondays.
