Christmas Market 2022

25th - 27th November 2022

Our Christmas Market is back, but with a twist. We’re moving to the beautiful 1912 Mill for this year’s Market, to make room for more brilliant ceramics, jewellery, prints, homeware, original artwork and more! Expect over 50 local Artists and Makers a day, a children’s play space, print workshops, mulled wine and lots of Christmas spirit. We’re dog friendly too!

10-4pm each day.

Each day, more than 50 local makers and artists will fill the first floor of our iconic 1912 Mill with hand crafted jewellery, ceramics, textiles, prints, homeware, cards and more. It’s a day out for the whole family. There’s a children’s sensory play area and children’s craft activities, and you can pop into the Arctic Café for mulled wine and homemade cake.

Our workshops are great fun! You can weave your own Christmas baubles with Agnis in the Weaving Shed or join our Natural Dyeing workshop in the Spinning Mill Studio. Book now via our website. You can also pop in and chat to some of our artists who will have original work on sale. In the Twisting you can visit Nel Whatmore, Bronte Adam, Jo Woffinden, Jaynie Batty and Eilidh Gilmour; and in the Spinning Mill Studio Mel Davies (Sat/Sun), Penny Pendle Hayes and Maya Stigner.

Elsewhere, the inspiring Art Makers from Henshaws Arts & Craft Centre in Knaresborough are exhibiting in the Art Gallery. The .artmaker exhibition showcases the artists’ incredible talents and will fill the Gallery with colour and fun. Henshaws supports people living with a range of disabilities to discover their talents, helping them to develop a creative practice and realise their full potential.

On Saturday our textile Archive will be open for guided tours as usual and includes a children’s activity area and mill office, with an Archive trail and hidden sheep to find! Book now via our website.

We’ve also a special guest appearance by Commoners Choir at 2pm on Saturday. They’ll be singing irreverent Christmas carols that you may well have sung yourself in the playground, inside the 1912 Mill. Join us for some naughty carolling fun!

Many of the Mill’s independent businesses will also be open over our festive weekend. You can visit The Art Rooms and Just Lovett Designs in Red Lane Mill, The Emma White Jewellery Studio in the Twisting,  Ewe Neek/ Lili of the Valley and Pampas & Bloom in the Mending Rooms, Mill Creations School of Sew, SCRAP (Fri/ Sat) and Arlington Interiors in the Spinning Mill, Beckett & Beckett in the Festoon Rooms as well as our food and drink outlets – Amity (Fri from 1pm; Sat/Sun from 12pm), Botanic Request, Farsley Fire & Smoke (pop up outside the 1912 Mill), Grumpy’s, Mill Kitchen, and Saint Jude.
