Join project founder, artist, and academic, Vanessa Marr for an engaging and practical workshop. You will be guided through a series of prompts to begin your own hand-embroidered duster, with the option for it to join the touring collection. All levels of sewing skill welcome in a supportive and women-centred environment.

Suitable for ages 16+. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
About Vanessa
Vanessa Marr, RSA, is an artist and academic based in the UK. Best known for her practice ‘stitch-drawing’ onto dusters, she is drawn to cloth as a medium that holds the legacy of so-called women’s work. She exhibits internationally and has published widely on the theme of women and domesticity.

Workshop and course bookings can be cancelled and refunded up until 7 days before the scheduled start date. As materials and equipment are ordered in advance, we regret that refunds cannot be offered less than 7 days before the workshop date. Please note that Eventbrite’s booking fee is non-refundable.
If we need to cancel the course for any reason your ticket will be fully refunded.
Accessibility
This workshop will be held in a space opposite the Spinning Mill Studios which are accessed by two flights of stairs or a wheelchair accessible lift. If you are likely to need lift access, please let us know on your booking form so that we can offer assistance on the day. There are wheelchair accessible toilets within the Spinning Mill building.
