Art Workshops

Our workshops encourage self-led exploration of materials and processes. Our workshops make links to our exhibition programme and provide opportunity to develop art skills and confident use of materials and ideas. As well as promoting communication through art with the development of visual literacy and inspiring critical thinking.

By exploring and investigating the artworks we hope to stimulate imagination and experimentation for creative work in small groups. The workshops start in the calming and reflective space of the Gallery and put creative processes at the centre of pupils’ learning.

We then move to the ‘Bobbin Room’- our bespoke learning space where we can get creative using mediums from printing ink, textiles, and large 3D sculptures. We aim to deliver exploratory, creative, skills-based learning across many different curriculum areas.

We welcome pupils with additional needs. Workshops, talks and tours can be tailored to suit your requirements. Please contact us to discuss any educational needs, and for more detailed information about access, please see the access page on our downloadable ‘information pack’.

We are Arts Award ‘Discover and Explore’ accredited. If you would like to know more about this please contact [email protected]
